The museum can be reached within two hours that include one hour Bus Drive from Pokhara to Lumle and another one hour walk from Lumle to Tanchowk. The village was once the gateway to Annapurna Base camp and trekking route to Muktinath.

The village is the house to the temple of Kanchi Barahi sister of Barahi situated in Fewa Lake. There is also a durbar of historic importance which belonged to Rajas and Maharajas. Even before the Bhure Takure Rajas and P. N Shah.

Every one gets enchanted by the beauty of the village with Himalayas on one side and beautiful sceneries of Panchase Danda, Ghandruk, Dhampus, Ghorepani, Fewa Lake etc on the other sides. But due to a change in the map of Nepal Tourism Broard this village is out of focus today. With a view to revive its old days and make it a major tourism centre, Mr. Lok bahadur Gurung established the Museum.
